Lately I don’t seem to have much of an urge to write on my blog or write new songs. I have been plucking the guitar strings a bit and blowing on the harmonica, neither of which I know how to really do.
We’ve been working quite a bit in this new yard … maybe that is taking the place of other creative activities.
I just want to wish you the love of Easter. Tomorrow 18 family members will be over here and we will be sharing in the love of Easter through God’s grace. And, that is all I want to say about that…(said in the voice and mannerisms of Stan Laurel of Laurel and Hardy fame.)
Here are some evening photos of our place out here in Orland California.
We have 29 rose bushes around the yard.
We inherited 2 hens and 3 Koi when we bought this place. First thing we did was let the hens run freely about. I have some ideas for the Koi later this summer. No, David, not a fish fry.
Bought a barbecue and a fire pit. The kids love roasting marshmallows there. I get into the hot tub morning and night.
Getting ready to put up an above ground pool. It gets very warm out in this valley.
I built some raised beds for sunflowers, tomatoes, peppers. I also planted watermelon and honeydew melons. I have more to plant yet. I also have planted 6 more fruit trees.
I planted some grapes, raspberries, and blackberries. I am seriously thinking about putting in a small vineyard to make my own wine. I’ve made my own beer before and my son-in-law got his friends drunk on it. For some weird reason that pleased me.
Here is the sunset, over the back pasture, through a grapevine. Also, I created a little walking path around part of the pasture. It is about 1/4 mile (400 meters) long. Today Gracie, our golden doodle, and I went around 3 times as I try to recover from some old guy injuries.
Happy Easter to you and yours.
