That Is Not A Volleyball!

For 7 months I have been walking…more like shuffling…in a lot of pain. Now I am not the smartest guy when it comes to taking care of my health issues. Some might even say I am rather stupid. My love ones just sort of shake their heads as I keep trying to ignore my obvious issues.

Last week, I got back from playing 3 consecutive days of golf with some former colleagues. It was pretty pathetic to watch me hobbling around- but I got through it, but was wiped out. My left knee is a mess and my right foot hurts a lot.

So today, I went to see a specialist and he said I was a textbook case of Insertional Achilles Tendinopathy with Equinus contracture of the ankle and Calcific tendinitis of Achilles’ tendon. In other words, I am old with a heel spur and a shredding Achilles’ tendon. Also starting the same condition on the left foot.

Having had 3 knee surgeries, I abhor surgeries and hospitals. So off I go to Physical Therapy with a 30% chance of success. Someday, I know, I will be in an ‘activity room’ sitting in a chair while playing balloon volleyball. I am going to take a pin with me and every time the balloon comes my way I’m going to pop that balloon while saying, “That IS NOT a volleyball people. It is a stupid balloon!”

Here’s the photo for the family album!
