First of all, isn’t it kind of dumb how we in the U.S. spell the color grey different from all other English speaking countries? Got to have a sense of humor – humour in British English…
Here in Northern California, every summer and fall we get extended periods of dense, smoke filled skies from all the fires. The gray/grey in this photo is all from the smoke. It is hard to capture the sun’s true color, but this gives you an idea – looking out our back yard and pasture.

Yuk, I say/ Regardless how you spell gray.
p.s. as I sit in our family room, the smoke burns my eyes.
God-awful! Breathing must be such a challenge. We had rain today and I thought about CA and as much as we needed it, I wished CA could have had the same. Take care, Gary.

p.s. yes breathing that crap is really bad for the lungs. I took in too much of it in Paradise, so careful not to spend much time in it!
