About 15 minutes from our home is Black Butte Dam. I walked up on the dam and with a telephoto lens, while standing in one place, I took pictures in all directions. Here is what I saw.
Northwest direction, the Trinity Alps-

Looking northwards, Mount Shasta beyond a new vineyard-

To the Northeast, Mount Lassen –

To the south of me, the Sutter Buttes –

And to my west, Black Butte Lake in front of the Mendocino National Forest –

And one more of Mount Shasta –

What a gorgeous earth.
California, God shed His Grace on thee!

That is so true. I hear people all the time saying they can’t stand living in California and want to move away and I love this state…politics come and politics go but so much beauty and geological diversity. (It is a little expensive to live here though.)

A few less people and traffic would suit me, but its beauty is a huge draw. Haven’t been out in almost two years, miss seeing it and my son, alas.

Me too and I love Arizona too. Lived in Tucson for a bit. Nothing like those desert sunsets. And, The beauty up north is incredible. Love Sedona, the White Mountains, Flagstaff and beyond. Such a beautiful world!
