The summer heat in the Sacramento Valley can become almost unbearable.
Fortunately, it doesn’t require a long trip to get away from it for a bit.
We decided to drive up to Oregon and spend a day on the Oregon coast. We drove along the Umpqua River.

Stopped along the way at an organic blueberry farm and we picked 20 pounds of blueberries in a very short amount of time.

Learned a little history along the way.

Ate lunch in Florence, Oregon.

Climbed up some steep sand dunes and quickly realized that I am 68 years old.

But, it was worth the view.

Headed back to our hotel in Roseburg, Oregon.

Tomorrow, back to the summer heat!
What a lovely escape, it all looks so cool and refreshing, I am sure you feel restored after that brief break from the intense summer heat.
