To the Point

on September 15, 2022September 15, 2022

I planted a little pomegranate tree 3 years ago. It has about 30 pomegranates on it this year.

This little fella just loves following me around… except on cloudy days.

When I lived in the Phoenix area, we had two pomegranate bushes in the front yard. We didn’t eat them, so they just rotted on the bush drawing huge fruit aphids, which flew all around me every time I pruned them, I was quite a spectacle for the neighborhood running and flailing my arms, lol.

Your shadow is pretty tall, nice to have good company behind you. 🙂

I was warned in a pruning book to aggressively prune their underneath limbs because they can become a nightmare later on. Oh yes, rotting would be a total mess. Worse I have seen are persimmons. Beautiful fall color leaves but what a rotten mess on the ground!

Nice ROI! I am so envious, I love pomegranates, despite their cost, which is $3-4 each. So that tree has already paid for itself!

They do really well out here and require less water. Family also decorates in the fall with them. They are really fun to watch with their beautiful blossoms and then see how much they grow. Getting to be a bit of a trendy Cali thing, but I guess they are really good for you too.
