The candlemakers have temporarily transitioned to wreaths!

The grapevines and pomegranates are from the yard too. The ribbon is from a little off the beaten path Christmas shop in Cottonwood, California.

Wow, very talented hands at work! Is everything dried first beforehand? I’m curious as to the technique used. 🙂

The floral wreath- Bridget picks the flowers during the summer- when the are at their peak- and hang them to dry, usually in the garage. She then usually will purchase a basic wreath with artificial greenery ( most real usually crumbles too soon) at a craft store, although she has started from scratch before, and use it as a base. Then she gets the glue gun out to attach the flowers to the wreath. That takes quite a bit because she really puts a lot of flowers on. I suppose it is like working on a float for the Rose Parade. For the Christmas wreath, she purchased a very basic vine wreath (real) and then started clipping our grapevines because they are so much bigger and then weaves the big vines throughout and then added real cedar branches, weaving them in. She dried pomegranates about a month ago and attached them with the glue gun, ordered the cow bells from Amazon and added some antique ribbon she had collected.

She is incredibly artistic. Last year she was making some earrings that were quite popular. Our oldest daughter often joins in on these projects. Like her mother, she is a Speech Therapist. Our youngest daughter just completed her national exams for a nurse practitioner (midwife and women’s health) after the fire and being a labor and delivery nurse -who lost her home and workplace – she decided to pursue a new path. Our son has a thriving marketing company. Bridget’s real brava was in her motherhood, I think. Huge heart.
