The pottery ladies (no, I will resist shortening that to the ‘potties’) have turned their attention to creating some garden art.
It is really quite a process as they discover and work with the rather inconsistencies of firing a glaze.
They are using leather strips to bring it all together and the kitchen table is often where it is all assembled.
The bell shapes are created for the top of the design and then the smaller pieces are added. Out in the pottery studio now are some clay birds- well actually there are also some real birds flying around looking for a safe nesting area – drying and waiting for the fire of the kiln. They might become part of the next group of garden pretties.
March On!

How lovely, so much creativity, I love the shapes and colors. What a great idea to use leather for the connectors. Hope you’re doing well.

They are very pretty and unique… if I just lower my expectations a bit, I think I am doing really well. I am very much enjoying my lifestyle at this point in my life. Out in the shop right now making some fruit lugs for this season. I had collected some but started getting concerned of what toxins may have been stored in them through the years, so using fence board lumber to make some clean ones. I hope all is well in Indy!

I’m happy that you’re enjoying life being creative, it’s always such a tranquil and enjoyable way to show our uniqueness. I’ve always enjoyed being creative, but now that I’m free to create life my way, it’s a big part of my day to day. Life in the city is good, not much snow this year but enough to keep the flowers from starting too soon. Can you believe it’s a week away from the daylight savings time change already?

So much creativity and fun they must be having! Do you now have a retail outlet?

They do enjoy themselves out there. Haven’t really thought about how to sell them. Right now I think they will offer them for sale at their first bouquet bar event this spring. Or, we’re going to have a lot of garden art around our place this year!
